I don't eat meat, but today's bento is for my animal protien-loving boyfriend, Jared. I included some leftovers from previous days, plus a fresh batch of fried rice. This dish is literally the first dish I ever learned to make, and I still enjoy it almost 15 years later. I also gave these cute little cookie cutters their first go-around with some sausage that Jared gets at Costco. Here's the full details:
- Fried Rice
- Aidells Chicken Habanero Sausage
- Spiralized citrus cucumber salad (recipe from Vegan Soul Kitchen)
- Spiralized carrot kinpira (recipe from Just Bento)
- Sliced orange
Today's bento is a combination of stuff I need to use up in the refrigerator and pantry. There's a bit of overlap from yesterday, plus a few new dishes:
- Gnocchi two ways: with pesto from Costco, and Vodka sauce from Trader Joe's. The gnocchi are store bought from the brand Gia Russa
- Spiralized carrot kinpira (recipe from Just Bento)
- Blueberries
- Blue cheese dressing for the lettuce underneath
I've always admired bentos on blogs from a distance, but now that I'm out of school, I've had enough time to try to make them myself. Here's what's inside my first one from last night:
- Spiralized citrus cucumber salad (recipe from Vegan Soul Kitchen)
- Blueberries
- Carrot sticks
- Pizza waffles (pizza dough stuffed with cheese, sauce and pepperoni and thrown on the waffle iron)
- Blue cheese dressing
